Yup, A New Theme…

Published by throwingmarshmallows at 1:03 am under Blog Stuff

Andrea just loaded a bunch of new themes, so I thought that I would check some out. In general, I liked the last theme, but there were a few quirks that I did not like. Like how all the pictures were right justified and had the text wrap around them (which meant that putting in multiple pics was tricky). And how all images had a green border around them which meant that my signature was put in a box. The old theme also did not include the Throwing Marshmallows quote in the header.

Not sure if I am 100% happy with the fonts on this theme, but I will play around with some of the options and see how it works. I also really like how I can edit each post directly if I am reading it. Makes clean-up work much easier.

Hope that you like it! And thanks Andrea!

Great minds think alike. :-) I switched to this theme, too, and I just saw it on Theresa’s blog (LaPaz Home Learning). Looks great! Your beach picture looks SO cool with this template.

    :D
Yeah, each theme has its own little quirks. It’s both a plus *and* a minus.

I picked this one too, after going through all the new ones. I haven’t switched yet though. No time to decide how to organize my sidebars. What I liked about this them is that I can use my picture from the K2 theme, and I like the tabs better than the ones in K2.

LOL, yeah I guess we all pretty much like it. ;)

Yup. It is definitely growing on me. Even if everyone else *is* using it! At least the pictures make them all different…

Now to work on my sidebars a bit more…they have not been updated for awhile..

And figure out how to do pictures…I am not happy with the size options with the flickr upload…the small is too small, yet the medium is too big. Anyone know if you can go and modify it after it uploads? I played around a bit in the code, but it seems to distort the picture. Is there another way to upload and how do you set the size?

Yep, you can play around with image size in the code. The img tag will have both height and width in there, and they are proportional, so if you get them not quite right, the pic will look off. Instead of fiddling with two numbers, I just drop the height attribute and leave the width.
The main content area is a mere 470pixels wide (I just looked at the stylesheet), so keep the width of the pics under that, and you’ll be dandy.

    Clear as mud? :D

I like this theme too, but have to play around with the pics before I can use it. Mine spill over into the sidebars (and I agree with you that small is too small).
