Another benefit of homeschooling

I get to miss rush hour traffic! Twice in the past week I had to be out on Northern Virginia traffic during rush hour. I swear, I really had forgotten how bad it can be!

Of course, I guess that you don’t have to be a homeschooler to get this benefit, but it is one of the side benefits. I also love being able to shop/run errands during the day rather then in the evenings or on weekends. I have actually gotten a bit spoiled in this regard. I hate crowds and lines!

About throwingmarshmallows

I am a homeschooling mom to two sweet, energetic boys although I am probably not exactly what you would expect (definitely NOT your stereotypical homeschooler, if there is really such a thing). I support progressive political causes (yes, liberals can and do homeschool!) and I have found a spiritual home in the Unitarian Universalist Church. I have no real idea of how I want to use this blog, but will probably focus on homeschooling, things that I am learning from my boys, personal thoughts and opinions and maybe some liberal politics thrown in, who knows!

I work from home and have the same reaction any time I have to drive during rush hour (or god forbid, on a holiday weekend!).

  2. I get so overwhelmed by ALL THE CARS whenever I have to run my husband into work in the morning. “Is it like this everyday?!” I inevitably ask. To which I generally get a massive eyeroll and a snort. How quickly peak traffic lost its “normal” status for me…
