Homeschooling on BlogTalkRadio

Shannon from PhatMommy will be a guest on BlogTalkRadio this Tuesday night (December 5th)  to discuss homeschooling. The show description is as follows:

School Your Children Well: We’re talking about tot yoga, college-prep preschool, homeschooling v public school… Featuring Alex Elliot, PhatMommy and Pundit Mom.

The program starts at 10 pm ET, but Shannon’s segment will begin around 10:30. (Prior to that they will be discussing preschool.) Her “opposition” is Joanne from PunditMom .

If you are available between 10:30 and 11pm ET, feel free to call in and support Shannon by posing thoughtful questions to PunditMom. You can listen to the broadcast here.

Should be an interesting discussion…good luck Shannon!

About throwingmarshmallows

I am a homeschooling mom to two sweet, energetic boys although I am probably not exactly what you would expect (definitely NOT your stereotypical homeschooler, if there is really such a thing). I support progressive political causes (yes, liberals can and do homeschool!) and I have found a spiritual home in the Unitarian Universalist Church. I have no real idea of how I want to use this blog, but will probably focus on homeschooling, things that I am learning from my boys, personal thoughts and opinions and maybe some liberal politics thrown in, who knows!

It does sound like an interesting discussion. Thank you for sharing this.

  3. PunditMom says:

I don’t think I’m the “opposition.” Thoughtful parents come to different conclusions about what’s best for their children. I am hoping that home schoolers don’t think that the rest of us are the opposition. The point of the podcast will be to talk about why we made the choices we did and to answer questions. Thoughtful questions? Bring them on. Attacking a different viewpoint? I hope not.

  4. Stephanie says:

Oh my no! That was tongue in cheek which is why opposition was in quotes. I highly believe that each family chooses what works best for them and there is no right or wrong choice.

Homeschooling has taken a bit of a public hit lately with the Dr. Phil show…so we might be a bit sensitive…

I am sure that you all will have fun tomorrow. Hope that you enjoy!
